Kav Temperley is one of Australia's most celebrated songwriters, performers and creative thinkers. As frontman, bassist and co-founder of Eskimo Joe, he has spent nearly three decades helping shape the sound of Australian music while carving out a bold parallel life as a solo artist, producer and mentor.

Eskimo Joe's story is woven into the fabric of Australian culture. Seven studio albums. 8 ARIA Awards, 15 WAMi Awards, 2 APRA Awards, 3 ISC Awards. Black Fingernails, Red Wine spent an extraordinary 62 weeks in the ARIA Top 50, and eleven songs have appeared in Triple J's Hottest 100. Kav's songwriting credits include From the Sea (APRA Song of the Year, 2004), Black Fingernails, Red Wine (2006) and Foreign Land (APRA Song of the Year, 2009).

He has performed everywhere from the AFL Grand Final and Big Day Out to Sundance Film Festival and G'DAY USA in New York, and has reimagined Eskimo Joe's catalogue with WASO, TSO, SSO and PSO.

As a solo artist, Kav released All Your Devotion (2019) and Machines of Love and Grace (2022). His third album is now in development.

Beyond the stage, Kav produces for artists including Joan and the Giants, Ella E, Kiara Eve and Sash Seabourne, and has composed original works for the Water Corporation and Perth Festival. He curates ArtsiX, a national creative lab bringing musicians and visual artists together, lectures at WAAPA and Collarts, and has judged the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition. His podcast HatJam debuted at #2 on the national charts.

In 2026, fresh off one of Eskimo Joe's biggest touring years and an APRA nomination, Kav is heading into a new creative chapter, back in the studio, working with fellow artists, and building something new.
