Kav Songwriters Virtual Series presented by Australian Arts Council in 2020 Nov 27, 2020

Over the month of September this year, I got together once a week over a zoom chat with a bunch of songwriters young and old to complete the very first “Kav Virtual Songwriters” course. We had people in Melbourne (in the middle of lockdown) as well Tasmania and Western Australia. At the end of the month we had written two songs together both of which we then turned into a “scratch demo” recording. Some people sent in recordings they’d recorded in their home studio’s whilst others sent in their final vocals recorded on an iPhone, I then put all these tracks together in my studio in Fremantle and I’m happy to say you can now listen to the final product on Soundcloud.

This project was a huge success not only because the songs are great but because this was an important outlet for everyone involved. We proved that you can write and remotely collaborate no matter where you live in the world.

I want to say a huge thank you to The Australian Arts Council, without their help none of this would have been possible. And also to Mitch, Mike, Evie, Sophia and Aaron who wrote these beautiful songs during one of the weirdest years of all of our lives.

Stay tuned for the next workshop and feel free to DM us if you have any queries.

Many Thanks, Kav

See you later 2019 Dec 31, 2019

Its that time of year folks where we look back at the year thats been and reflect on the highs and the lows that is life as we know it. I started my year off by getting married to the love of my life, in ceremony that more resembled a weird theatre piece than a church service, Beth and I got married on a boat in old theatre surrounded by our friends and family. I spent from April to July working in the studio with some young and up coming artists helping them to write and produce some brand new music. I Also managed to spend some time on my own music working away on the follow up to  "All your Devotion" From July through to December i squeezed back into my eskimo joe pants and set out on the road playing a bunch of our shows(a cheeky solo show in Melbourne) as well as supporting the legendary Jimmy Barnes. I also got to be a part of the first guitar festival in Margaret river where i was lucky enough to be asked to do some lecturing on songwritingwhich was such a joy for me, as i absolutely love Margaret river and song writing. While i was there i caught up with my old mate John Butler whom i co wrote "we want more" from his album "Home" Next year i have some amazing new projects in the works, a couple of musical Podcasts that I’m working on as well as some exciting Eskies announcements, and of course some new music from yours truly…….stay safe Kav
